The Tier 1 (Post-study work) category allows the UK to retain the most able international graduates who have studied here. The Post-Study Work visa replaces both the previous International Graduates Scheme (IGS) and the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme. This visa is issued for the period of two years. In this two year period post study worker can look for work without needing to have a sponsor/work permit

Switching/Extension

you can switch to this category if you on Student Visa or if you currently have leave under the Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme (SEGS), International Graduates Scheme (IGS) or Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme

Unlike other categories of Tier 1, this visa can not be extended after Two years. Applicants are expected to switch into other categories of Point Based System like Tier 1 and Tier 2 if they meet the specific requirements of these categories. Post study work visa can only be issued once to eligible applicants.

Time spent under this category does not count towards residency requirement if you want to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Requirements

The applicant needs to obtain 75 points in attributes. And besides these points he needs to score 10 points in each category of English Language Requirement and Maintenance Requirement.
