Post Study Workers

You can apply to remain as Post Study Workers in U.K if you are on student visa Or if you are in the U.K with permission to stay under the Science and Engineering Graduates Scheme (SEGS), International Graduates Scheme (IGS) or Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme (FT:WISS). You may apply from outside the United Kingdom if you have completed your accredited studies within the 12 month period.

You may stay upto 2 years under this category. And you may take any work without need to apply for work permit. Before completing your two years you are expected to switch into other tiers of points based system.

The time you spend in the post-study worker category does not count towards the period you need to spend in the United Kingdom before being eligible to live permanently in the United Kingdom (known as ’settlement’ or ‘indefinite leave to remain’).

Points required to apply as a post-study worker

You must score 75 points for your attributes, which are a United Kingdom qualification, study at a United Kingdom institution, your immigration status during United Kingdom study and/or research, and the date of award of the qualification; and

• 10 points for English language; and
• 10 points for available maintenance (funds).
